Moody made his first-class debut for Western Australia in the 2014-15 Sheffield Shield season. He had previously played games for several invitational sides over international teams in preparation for the 2015 World Cup. The teams consisted of Afghanistan, Idia, Bangladesh, and the United Arab Emirates. Moody also featured in the 2015 Prime Minister’s XI match over England.

He is a right-arm medium pacer, and he secured a rookie deal with the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) for the 2014-15 domestic season. In February 2015, on his debut over New South Wales, he took 4/60 in the first innings, including wickets in both his first and third overs. Moody then took his maiden first-class five-wicket haul in March 2017 on the 2nd day of the Victoria vs. Western Australia Sheffield Shield match in Alice Springs. He later made his Twenty20 debut for the Hobart Hurricanes in the 2018-19 Big Bash League season on January 18, 2019.
