Who is Dan Mullen?

Dan Mullen is a famous American college football coach who recently served as the head coach at the University of Florida from 2018 until 2021. Prior to joining Florida, Mullen served as the head coach at Mississippi State University between 2009 and 2017.

Mullen began his coaching career in 1994 as a wide receivers coach at Wagner College. He served until the end of the 1995 season. Additionally, Mullen served as a wide receiver in Columbia between 1996 and 1997. Mullen landed a job as a graduate assistant at Syracuse in 1998. Urban Meyer hired Mullen in 2001 as a quarterbacks coach at Bowling Green. He served there for two seasons. He followed Meyer to Utah in 2003 still as a quarterbacks coach and served until the end of the 2004 season. Mullen recruited and coached quarterback Brian Johnson during his tenure at Utah, who later led his team to 13–0 and a Sugar Bowl victory for the 2008-2009 season.

Urban Meyer landed a job at the University of Florida as their new head coach due to his prominence. Mullen followed Meyer there and served as interim offensive coordinator for the 2005 Fiesta Bowl. He led the players to a 35–7 win over the Pittsburgh Panthers. Mullen joined Meyer after the victory as the new offensive coordinator and quarterback coach until the end of the 2008 season.

The Bulldogs victories included wins over Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, and Mississippi.

The Bulldogs began the 2011 season ranking number 19 in the nation. Mullen recorded a 5–6 record in a game against Ole Miss. The Bulldogs closed the season with a 7–6 record after victory over ake Forest, 23–17. Mullen began the 2012 season with a victory over Jackson State and a win over Auburn. The Bulldogs finished the season with an 8–5 record after they were defeated 34–20 by Northwestern.

In the 2013 season, The Bulldogs began against number 13 Oklahoma State. They lost 21–3. However, they won over Troy, Kentucky, and Bowling Green, but lost to LSU, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Alabama. Mullen led the Bulldogs to a 34–29 win over LSU at Death Valley in the 2014 season. Mullen made SEC history in a conference on 26 December 2016 to win the first blow game and still finish with a losing record on the season. The Bulldogs finished the season with a 6–7 mark.
