Cristina Perez is an American TV personality, actress, writer, and television judge. She is well known for presiding over cases in the show La Corte del Pueblo from 1999 until 2000 and also La Corte de Familia from 2000- 2005 on Telemundo Channel.
She published her first book in September 2006, titled Living by Los Dichos: Advice from Mother to a Daughter which was published by Simon & Schuster. After that, she published her second book titled All About the Woman Who Wears It: 10 Laws for being Smart, Successful, and Sexy Too. The book was published by Penguin Books in March 2010.
Christina was a host for the syndicate American arbitration-based reality court show. The show premiered in 2006, and it was filmed at KRIV, the Fox-owned-and-operated station in Huston. The show made her one of the four Hispanic judges that presided over an English-language to American TV judge show, together with Maria Lopez (Judge Maria Lopez), Alex Ferrer (Judge Alex), and Marilyn Milian (The People’s Court). In addition, the show was produced and directed by Arthur Bergel.
She was the first Hispanic judge to shift from Spanish-language to English- language television. She is of Colombian ancestry not Mexican or Cuban as it has been thought by many of her viewers. Up to now, the defunct series is one of only two shows to ever win the Emmy Awards for Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program the other being Judge Judy.
