Who Is Craig Melvin?

Craig Melvin is an American journalist and news anchor who serves as a correspondent at NBC News and anchor at MSNBC. He was named a news anchor on NBC’s Today.

Melvin began his journalism career in July 2001 as a news photographer and producer at NBC-affiliate WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina. He then became a reporter for the station’s morning news team, producing his “Craig Cam” live segments. Melvin was later promoted to a news anchor for the weekend morning newscast and the weekend evening newscasts before heading the weekday newscasts. In his tenure, he also created several series that covered issues affecting education and the homeless in Columbia, just to mention a few. He was named “Best Anchor” by the South Carolina Broadcaster’s Association and awarded two Emmy Awards during his tenure as an evening news anchor at WIS.
