Courtney Laine Mazza (Courtney Lopez) is an American actress, singer, dancer, and producer known for Pittsburgh (2006), Love & Salsa (2014) and Earano (2007). She is also known for being married to American actor and entertainment journalist Mario Lopez.
Mazza attended Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts School and later enrolled into the University of Arts in Philadelphia, from where she graduated in 2003. In high school, Mazza earned nominations for her lead role in three plays and became the only person to be honored with the prestigious ‘Best Actress’ award at the ‘Gene Kelly Awards For Excellence in High School Musical Theater’ twice, in her freshman and senior years. While in college, she successfully auditioned to be a member of a four-person girl group, Audrey Blue.
The event’s sponsor YM magazine did a photo shoot with the group and recorded the original song ‘Stay to the World’, but it was never released.
After college, she offered to do a Broadway Revue at Caesar’s Palace in Atlantic City, where she performed nightly for three months. After relocating to New York, she landed a spot in the Britney Spears video, ‘Me Against the Music’. Mazza traveled to many cities across the country for Broadway national tour of ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’.
Courtney performed in the Broadway Revival of ‘A Chorus Line’ from February 2007 to August 2008, even though she left it for a few months after being selected as the original cast for the stage version of ‘Cry Baby’, which she did from September 2007 to June 2008. Mazza also acted in ‘The Little Mermaid’ from August 2008 to March 2009. Mazza previously appeared on the CBS soap ‘As the World Turns’, and after relocating to Los Angeles in 2009, she began working as a correspondent for ‘Top Rank Boxing’ on HBO.
