Clayton started his career with the gulf coast league (GCL) Dodgers. He was rated as the top prospect after he featured an after fastball that led at 154km/hr.

2013 season: 2nd Cy Young Award

Kershaw became the 3rdDodger pitcher to have an ERA under 3.00 in five consecutive seasons. He won the warren Spahn award in the year 2013 which was honoring the best left-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He became the 6th pitcher in history to finish in the highest voting three seasons continuously. After that season Kershaw and the Dodgers agreed on a contract extension for seven years for $215 million. This contract was the highest and richest deal made in history.

2014 season: 3rd Cy Young Award and National League MVP

For the first time in his whole career, he was written on the disabled list when he felt pain in his back. 2015 season: Great 300-strikeout season

Kershaw became the eleventh player in major league history on October 4 to strike out 300 batters in one season. He finished that season with a record of 16-7 record and a 2.13 era and 301 strikeouts.
