Among other work, he played a role in the play Bleacher Bums which made him what one magazine called “the first black actor to play a cheerleader”, before he segued into television roles. As a character actor, he made guest appearances on TV shows such as Diff’rent Strokes, The Facts of Life, 227, Simon & Simon, and Riptide. He then was cast in the final season of the NBC TV series CHiPs from 1982 to 1983 as Officer Benjamin Webster, opposite Erik Estrada. In 1984, he co-starred with Jim Carrey in the NBC sitcom The Duck Factory.
