Christian McCaffrey High School Career

For his freshman year, he attended Regis Jesuit High School and then Valor Christian High School for the rest of his high school career. He played running back, wide receiver, cornerback, and punter. He went on and broke Colorado high school records including career total touchdowns (141), career all-purpose yards (8,845), career touchdown receptions (47), and single-season all-purpose yards (3,032). In both 2012 and 2013, he was the Gatorade Football Player of the Year for Colorado. Also, he was a standout sprinter on the track and field team. Christian McCaffrey’s 2017 season

He was selected in the first round with the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers. On May 4, 2017, the Carolina Panthers signed him to a four-year, $17.2 million contract with a signing bonus of $10.7 million. He made his NFL season debut in the Panthers’ season-opener against the San Francisco 49ers and recorded 47 rushing yards, 38 receiving yards, and a lost fumble in a 23-3 victory. Christian then had nine receptions for 101 yards in Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints. He scored his first career rushing touchdown on a four-yard rush in the second quarter in week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons.

In week 1, he rushed 19 times for 128 yards and two touchdowns and caught 10 passes for 81 yards as the Panthers lost 27-30 against the Los Angeles Rams. In week 2 after losing All-Pro quarterback Cam Newton, the Panthers beat the Arizona Cardinals 38-20 in Week 3, where McCaffrey rushed 24 times for 153 yards with a career-long 76-yard touchdown and caught three passes for 35 yards. During week 9 against the Tennessee Titans, he finished with 146 rushing yards, 20 receiving yards, and 3 total touchdowns as the Panthers won 30-20. On April 16, 2020, he signed a four-year deal, $64 million contract extension with the Panthers through the 2025 season. This made him the highest-paid running back in NFL history. In Week 1, he carried the ball 23 times for 96 yards and two rushing touchdowns and caught three of four targets for 38 receiving yards in a 34-30 home loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. However, he suffered a hamstring injury in week 3, that kept him out the next two games. On October 6, he was placed on injured reserve and was activated on November 6 for week 9. In the following three games, he went over 100 scrimmage yards. The Panthers announced on November 29 that Christian would miss the remainder of the season with an ankle injury he sustained during the Panthers’ week 12 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
