Chandler Powell is an American professional Wake-boarder from Seffner, Florida, United States. He is best known for dating Australian actress and television personality and wildlife conservationist Bindi Irwin. He was named among 20 most promising wake-boarders under 20 by ‘Outsiders Online’ website in February 2015.
Powell has also been featured on the cover of ‘Wake Journal Issue 189’ in July 2015, supported by an incredible photo by Joey Meddock. He is also a nature lover and he shares his girlfriend’s passion for wildlife preservation. He was named Global ambassador for Australia Zoo’s Wildlife Warriors in 2015 with a feature in the Winter 2015 issue of ‘Crickey!’ magazine.
After graduating high school, Powell moved to Orlando where he attended the University of Central Florida majoring in marketing and a minor in International Business.
He works at the Australia Zoo in Queensland with Bindi and is also an active member of the Wildlife Warriors program, which was founded by Steve and Terri Irwin in 2002.

Chandler met Bindi Irwin in November 2013 at the Australian Zoo and they immediately became friends. Chandler was very much impressed by young Bindi that he wrote a letter to the zoo authorities asking if it was okay for him to write to her. Irwin is the daughter of late Australian zookeeper and television personality Steve Irwin alias ‘The Crocodile Hunter’.
The couple loved to travel and they often talked about how they tackled travelling and school at the same time. Chandler relocate from Florida to Australia in 2018 to live with the Irwin family.

Powell then shared on his social media accounts as well. He wrote, “She said YES! ❤️? Almost 6 years ago we met at Australia Zoo. I immediately fell head over heels for her kind and thoughtful heart that radiates so much light. Proposing in her very favorite place in the zoo, surrounded by animals, seemed like the perfect way to embark on this incredible new chapter in our lives. Bee, I love you more than anything in this world and I always will. Happy Birthday.”
Bindi’s mother, Terri Irwin also shared a tweet about the exciting news. Best day ever! Chandler asked and beautiful @BindiIrwin said yes. I am so very happy, and I know Steve would be too. Congratulations!!, she wrote.

Chandler began his career at the age of four when he was began skateboarding. Since he was too small to move even flip the board, he would primarily stick to halfpipes and bowls. Eventually, he earned sponsorships from the local skate shop by his house, as well as from Airwalk Shoes and Powell Skateboards. He then began going to McCormick’s Cable Park, which was right around the corner from his house. On noticing his skills, the operators used to give him different tricks to complete each day.
Powell began making videos of his performances, which earned him more sponsors on the way. He started to compete professionally at the age of 15. He participated in tournaments around the country, as well as other parts of the world. He traveled to China, Abu Dhabi, Philippines, Australia and Thailand within a year.
