Bryan released three startups between 1999 and 2003. The first, which sold cell phones, assisted pay his way through Brigham Young University. In the business, he employed other college students to sell service plans together with cell phones. Bryan, therefore, received around a $300 commission on each sale.
He also began two other businesses. Inquist, a VOIP company he co-founded with three other partners, with combined features of Vonage and Skype. The company concluded operations in 2001.
