A Professional Career

It was announced on December 8, 2016, that Brendan accepted to play in the 2017 Senior Bowl. Throughout the week leading to the Senior Bowl, he showed impressive in practice and showed fluid movement and an ability to break quickly to the ball, but was unable to hang on to receptions during receiving drills. He went on and appeared in the 2017 Reese’s Senior Bowl on January 27, 2017, as part of the Chicago Bears head coach John Fox’s North Team. In a 16-15 loss to the South, he recorded three combined tackles and intercepted Tulane quarterback Antonio Pipkin.

This made him become of 60 collegiate defensive backs to attend the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. During the draft process, Brendan had private visits and workouts with multiple teams including the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, Minnesota Vikings, and the Oakland Raiders. In the 2017 NFL Draft, he was selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round with the 101st overall pick. The Denver Broncos signed him to a four-year $3.17 million contract that includes a signing of $706,288 on May 11, 2017. He competed throughout the training camp for the job as the fourth cornerback on the depth chart against Lorenzo Doss and Taurean Nixon. He was then named the fourth cornerback on the depth chart by head coach Vance Joseph and for the Broncos’ dime packages. Brendan made his professional debut during the Denver Broncos’ season opener 24-21 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
