A Career from 2001 to 2006
Some years later in Nashville, he signed with Giant Records. And in 2001 he was slated to release a song entitled “I Wanna Talk About Me” as a single. Instead, Giant released “Austin” as Blake’s debut single. Shortly after the song’s release, Giant Records was closed and thus Blake was transferred to parent company Warner Bros. Records. “Austin” became his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts and spent five weeks at that position. Warner Bros. Records went on and released his self-titled debut album which was produced by songwriter Bobby Braddock.
Also, it produced the Top 20 hits “All Over Me” which Blake co-wrote with Earl Thomas Conley and Mike Pyle, and “Ol’ Red”. The album went on and received a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments of 1 million copies. A Career from 2006 to 2011
In early 2007, he released his fourth studio album, Pure BS. In late 2007, he made appearances on television shows: first as a judge on the talent competition Nashville Star and later on Clash of the Choirs. Philanthropy
In October 2013, he donated $20,000 to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, following a concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
