Early career

Beneil started training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu in 2007, receiving his black belt in only five years. He was a highly decorated and energetic competitor becoming a no-gi world champion as a blue, purple, and brown belt. Within the first three and a half years of his career, Dariush went undefeated with six victories and no losses. He then completed all but one of those victories.

Beneil made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 35 on January 15, 2014. He was then expected to fight Jason High. High was however forced out of the fight with appendicitis and was replaced by returning veteran Charlie Brenneman. Beneil then won the bout through submission in the first round. He came back after three months, losing to Ramsey Nijem by first-round TKO at UFC Fight Night 39, on April 11, 2014. Dariush was scheduled to fight Anthony Rocco Martin at UFC 176, on August 2, 2014. 2016-2018

Beneil was scheduled to fight Mairbek Taisumov at UFC Fight Night, on January 17, 2016. But he pulled out of the bout in early December citing injury and his place was taken by Chris Wade. He then fought Michael Chiesa at UFC on Fox 19, on April 16, 2016. Dariush lost the bout by submission in the second round.
