A Career from 2011 to 2014

In October 2011, she made her ITF Circuit debut after qualifying in Kalgoorlie. However, she played just four tournaments in 2012 without a win. But in March 2013, she reached the quarterfinals in doubles at an ITF event in Sydney. She competed in 2014 and qualified in three tournaments across the U.S. making the main draw in just one, where she lost in the first round.

On the ITF Circuit in 2015, she played just three tournaments reaching the quarterfinal or better in all three. In July 2015, she won her first title at Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. Thus she ended the season with a singles rank of 787. In addition, she received a scholarship to Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, she helped the Commodores win their first NCAA team tournament in 2015 with various honors such as a selection to the 2014 SEC All-Freshman team and being the 2017 SEC Player of the Year.

A Career from 2016 to 2018

Sharma competed on the European ITF Circuit in 2016. While at ITF Circuit, she experienced little singles success but partnering with Frances Altick won two doubles titles in July. She started the next season in June where she qualified and made the main draw in Sumter, USA. Between July and August 2017, she won her second and third ITF titles in Targu, Jiu, and Graz. Overall, she ended the year with a singles rank of 440. Mostly, she competed on the ITF Circuit across North America in 2018. And in March she reached the final of the ITF Orlando. The year was very promising as she qualified for the Australian Open in January 2019. While there, she won her first-round match over fellow Australian Priscilla Hon, before losing in the second round. She and John-Patrick Smith in mixed doubles made it through to the final after they defeated the second seed team of Bruno Soares and Nicole Melichar in the semifinals. However, they lost to the third seeds Barbora Krejcikova and Rajeev Ram.

She won the $25k singles and doubles in March at Irapuato, Mexico. She went on and reached her first WTA Tour final in April where she lost to Amanda Anisimova at the Copa Colsantitas.
