Who is Ana Maria?

Ana Maria is a Mexican television personality living in the U.S. She was the former host of Despierta América which is a Univision morning talk show. Maria also served as a guest host on El Gordo y La Flaca which was the network’s afternoon talk show.

Additionally, she appeared on Despierta América for thirteen years as of 2010 specifically October 21, 2010, when it was announced that she would not take part in the television show any longer. Later in September 2013, she became the co-host of the Telemundo morning show.

Maria started her career in Texas as a television reporter and was later debuted as an actress in Mundo de Juguete where she landed an uncredited role in the telenovela. In 1997, Maria became one of the original co-hosts in Despierta América. The show was rated number one in the Spanish Language morning show category in which she been the star since its debut. On December 13, 2005, she announced together with Raul De Molina that the nominations for the Premio Lo Nuestro awards show that was upcoming in 2006. Maria claimed that the 2005 event was viewed by over 9 million people and one of the highest-ranked specials on Univision. She also served as the host of the 4th Annual Los Premios De Texas Latin Music Awards on August 7, 2008, held at the Joe and Theresa Long Centre for Performing Arts in Austin, Texas.
