Who is Amanda Kloots?

Amanda Kloots-Larsen is an American celebrity trainer, a former Broadway dancer, and Radio City Rockette. She is best known for being the wife of the late Tony-Award winning actor who starred on Broadway’s Waitress and Rock of Ages, as well as the TV series Blue Bloods Nick Cordero.

Being originally from Ohio, she started off her career as a professional dancer. Kloots danced in Broadway’s Good Vibrations, toured around the country in Monty Python’s Spamalot, and was a member of the New York City Rockettes for nearly two decades.

They got married on September 3, 2017, in New York City. Their wedding was featured in Brides magazine and having 70 guests. Both were Broadway performers and they performed a choreographed routine to Harry Connick Jr.’s “It Had to be You” for their first dance.

Nick Cordero’s Death

Kloot’s husband died from complications related to coronavirus on July 5, 2020. He was first admitted to hospital on March 31, and his condition quickly went from stable to worse. On April 11, he needed to be resuscitated in the middle of the night, and doctors needed to put Cordero on an ECMO machine to support his heart and his lungs.

Unfortunately, after he seemed to be making progress, he needed his right leg amputated. The surgery went well but Cordero went into a coma.

Kloots frequently shared an update on his health. She had also launched a daily singalong with the hashtag #wakeupnick to show support for Mr. Cordero during the six weeks he was in a medically induced coma. Cordero had major lung damage and had not regained consciousness after being taken off sedation as of May 1, 2020. He later regained consciousness by May 13, 2020.

Cordero died on July 5, 2020, after 95 days at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
