A Television Career at BBC

Originally, he joined BBC for work experience on Business Breakfast. His experience from Financial World Tonight led him to front the BBC Two business show Working Lunch, where he came to popular notice. Since then, he has scripted and fronted a variety of other programs for BBC. Including; BBC Two, the 2003 series So What Do You Do All Day?, and Asian Millionaires. Adrian presented the spin-off series of the popular UK television show The Apprentice called The Apprentice: You’re Fired! from 2006 to 2009.

In the series, he interviews the latest candidate to be fired. In 2009, he left BBC and was preceded by Dara O Briain. He was a guest host in January 2007, of BBC One’s satirical news quiz, Have I Got News for You. Chiles returned to BBC television in January 2016 and fronted a 2-part religion/travel series My Mediterranean with Adrian Chiles for BBC Two. For BBC One in July 2016, he presented a special edition of Panorama called “Why We Voted to Leave: Britain Speaks”.

Soon after Chris Evans was confirmed as the new Friday presenter in a revamped one-hour format, Adrian left the BBC for ITV. In a four-year contract, speculated to be worth £1 million per year. On April 30, 2010, he left the BBC. From May 2010, he fronted ITV’s football coverage. On May 24, 2010, he made his ITV debut. In his debut, he presented the England vs Mexico friendly at Wembley (where England won the game by 3 goals to 1). Following ITV’s new breakfast television program, Adrian in September 2010, made his first appearance on Daybreak.

Due to the show failing to capture a larger market than its competitor Breakfast, it was announced on November 18, 2011, that Adrian would be terminated from the show. He was replaced by Dan Lobb. Adrian began presenting That Sunday Night Show on ITV in January 2011. The program returned for a second series in September 2011, and in January 2012, the third series. On April 20, 2014, his contract with ITV came to an end, however, he signed a new contract to purely host ITV’s football coverage. His new contract included a wage cut of £1 million per year. Adrian’s early career at BBC, he was an assistant producer and was presenting Radio 4’s Financial World Tonight by 1993.
